As environmental conditions improve and national fire activity moderates across the Western United States, Department of War active-duty and reserve-component forces are concluding their activation under Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA). Coordinated through the National Multi-Agency Coordinating Group at the National Interagency Fire Center, this unified response integrated military ground and air assets directly into the civilian-led interagency wildland fire suppression effort.
