PEMBROKE, N.C., Aug. 17 -- The University of North Carolina at Pembroke issued the following news release:

Native artists from across the Southeast will bring their work and perspectives to UNC Pembroke this fall for the fifth annual Nine-Nine Native South Art Show, presented by the Museum of the Southeast American Indian.

The juried exhibition opens with a public reception on Wednesday, Sept. 9, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in historic Old Main. The exhibition brings together Native artists from North Carolina and throughout the Southeastern United States, showcasing a diverse collection of paintings, beadwork, pottery, sculpture and mixed-media works. Many of the featured pieces will be available for purchase during the exhibition.
