WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio, Aug. 18 -- The U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology issued the following news release:
Over northern Michigan, a U.S. Marine Corps MV-22B Osprey moved into position behind a 1st Special Operations Wing MC-130J Commando II and connected with its refueling drogue. Inside the flight deck, Air Commandos managed airspeed, altitude and aircraft spacing while operating alongside U.S. Marine Corps KC-130J Super Hercules in dynamic airspace.
That mission reflected the 1st SOW's focus during its Aug. 1-13 participation in Exercise Northern Strike 26-2: advance aircrew readiness, generate specialized airpower from a forward location and strengthen interoperability with joint partners.
