On Wednesday, April 22, the Hostos Repertory Company premiered its new production of The Niceties, a contemporary play by Eleanor Burgess in which a college student and her history professor engage in a polite discussion of the student's essay on American history which escalates into a heated and provocative debate about race, history, and power in modern-day America.
