Today, House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington (TX-19) released the following statement after the Bureau of Labor Statistics released the Consumer Price Index (CPI) report for January 2026 (https://www.bls.gov/news.release/cpi.nr0.htm), which shows inflation at 2.4 percent, down from 2.7 percent in December. Gas prices also dropped 3.2 percent in the month of January:
