Southwest Wants Travelers to Enter Airplane Mode, But Other Airlines Went Further
US, Oct. 5 -- Southwest Airlines is offering more than 185 million Rapid Rewards points in a campaign encouraging burned-out Americans to travel. But "Enter Airplane Mode" is hardly aviation's first answer to digital overload. JetBlue, British Airways, Singapore Airlines, Qantas and Air New Zealand reveal how far the idea has already gone.
Southwest Airlines has launched "Enter Airplane Mode," a new campaign that rewards travelers for turning digital overload into travel, including more than 185 million Rapid Rewards points available through its "Notification Vacation" promotion. Customers can upload screenshots of their phone notifications to earn points, while a separate burnout quiz is designed to inspire a getaway.
