US, March 4 -- In the vast exhibition halls of ITB Berlin, where countries compete each year to capture the attention of the global tourism industry, Malta delivered a message that went well beyond holiday brochures and beach imagery.
During a briefing with journalists attending the world's largest travel trade fair, senior Maltese civil servant Ronald Mizzi outlined what he described as a "mega project" for the Mediterranean island state - a long-term national development framework intended to guide Malta's transformation over the coming decades.
