Kolkata, May 26 -- At a time when the formation of the Cockroach Janata Party has gained a lot of traction in the country, scientists from the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) have developed a DNA library of the insect.
The research was carried out jointly by scientists from the ZSI's Western Regional Centre in Pune and the Southern Regional Centre in Chennai of the Zoological Survey of India, along with researchers from Professor Ramkrishna More College, Pune. The team generated more than 100 DNA barcodes of cockroaches to build the reference library.
