Kyiv, July 16 -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has dismissed Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, ending the tenure of the country's youngest-ever defence chief after just six months in office, reports russian state owned media entity RT.

The 35-year-old technocrat confirmed his departure on Wednesday, calling his service "a great honour." In a lengthy farewell statement, Fedorov highlighted what he described as key achievements during his time in office, but acknowledged that he failed in reforming the ministry in accordance with "NATO standards".
