Bokaro, March 1 -- A 22-year youth was killed in a road accident in Jharkhand's Bokaro district, triggering widespread protests and a 12-hour traffic blockade on the Jainamore-Phusro main road, police said on Sunday. The blockade was lifted only after officials assured compensation to the bereaved family.
According to police sources, the incident occurred on Saturday near Tantri Petrol Pump under Jaridih police station limits. The deceased, identified as Mithilesh Rajak, a resident of Mango under Balidih OP area, was returning home on his motorcycle when a mini truck loaded with iron rods, coming from the opposite direction, reportedly suffered a sudden front tyre burst. The vehicle went out of control, leading to the accident.
