Sangli, June 30 -- In a disturbing incident, a youth committed suicide after allegedly being asked to convert for marriage. Police arrested two persons, including a young woman.
According to city police, the deceased youth was identified as Durvank Pramod Shewale (19), working in Pune.
A young woman from Kolhapur used to visit an elderly woman who lived near his house from time to time. Through this, the two met and a love affair developed.
The two decided to get married. However, Durvank's relatives are claiming that the young woman in question had made a condition that he would have to convert to her religion for marriage.
