Bengaluru, July 22 -- Police detained scores of Karnataka Youth Congress workers after they attempted to lay siege to Lok Bhavan here while protesting the detention of Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi during a demonstration in New Delhi over the alleged NEET question paper leak.
Hundreds of office-bearers, district presidents and workers of the Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (KPYCC) marched to Lok Bhavan, accusing the BJP-led Centre of stifling democratic protests. The demonstration escalated when protesters tried to breach police barricades and march towards the government complex, prompting police to detain them and disperse the gathering.
