Prayagraj, Oct. 15 -- Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday announced the renaming of Kasari-Masari, the area of late mafia leader Atiq Ahmed, to Shri Krishna Puri.
CM Yogi said that the name Kasari-Masari sounded like a butcher's name. He also performed the groundbreaking ceremony for flats to be built on government land freed from the possession of Atiq and his henchmen.
Yogi said,"Now the government is building houses for the poor on the land of the mafia."This residential project, to be developed by the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA), will consist of a 14-storey building. It will have a total of 602 flats.
Each flat will have two bedrooms, a hall, and a kitchen.
