Gorakhpur, June 23 -- In a significant step towards preserving India's spiritual heritage, the Uttar Pradesh government is developing the 'Shri Paramahansa Yogananda Janmasthali Memorial' in Gorakhpur, the birthplace of Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda Maharaj.

Inspired by the Yogoda Satsanga Society of India's Ranchi Ashram, the Rs 27.68 crore project is progressing at pace and is expected to be completed by December 2026.

Highlighting the significance of the project, UP Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said, "Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the government is committed to preserving the legacy of great spiritual leaders who have shaped India's cultural traditions.
