Patna, June 21 -- Marking a major push to institutionalise yoga among the youth, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Sunday announced that yoga would be introduced in the curriculum of schools and colleges across the state from the next academic year.

The Chief Minister made the announcement while inaugurating the 12th International Yoga Day celebrations at the Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna. Later, he also participated in the mass yoga session attended by thousands of people, where renowned yoga guru Swami Paramtej led the yoga practice.

Choudhary described yoga as India's ancient and invaluable cultural heritage and said it forms the foundation of a healthy body, a calm mind, and a balanced life.
