Bengaluru, Aug. 13 -- BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal on Thursday escalated the political battle over the proposed Bidadi township, alleging that the Karnataka government was planning to "gift" the project to Robert Vadra, husband of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and claiming a Rs 30,000-crore scam was linked to the project.

Yatnal alleged that the proposed township and land acquisition were being pursued to benefit Vadra and questioned the government's intentions behind acquiring farmers' land in Bidadi.

"Bidadi land is being prepared as a gift for Robert Vadra. There is a Rs 30,000-crore scam behind this," he alleged.
