New Delhi, June 14 -- The Mayur Vihar district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party organised a cleanliness drive at Kalindi Kunj Ghat on Sunday with a focus on promoting a clean Yamuna and raising awareness about environmental protection.

The campaign was led by Mayur Vihar district president Vijender Dhama and was attended by Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal as the chief guest. Party workers and local residents participated in the drive and carried out cleaning activities along the Yamuna riverbank.

Speaking on the occasion, nominated MCD councillor Manoj Kumar Jain said the Yamuna is an important cultural, spiritual and environmental asset and stressed the need for public participation in its conservation.
