Ashok RainaDharamshala, April 10 -- The second day of the historic Dhummu Shah Fair at Dadi in Dharamshala, Kangra district, witnessed the commencement of a traditional wrestling competition, inaugurated with rituals at the Bharari Temple.
Dharamshala Mayor Neenu Sharma, who attended as the chief guest, stated the importance of preserving traditional fairs to keep the younger generation connected with cultural roots.
She described the Dhummu Shah Fair as an ancient event deeply rooted in public faith.
Highlighting the significance of wrestling, she said the sport has brought international recognition to India and that organizing such competitions at local fairs helps promote it further while engaging youth with tradition.
