Kolhapur/Satara, May 19 -- Maharashtra's wrestler Mahendra Gaikwad won the prestigious 'Hind Kesari' title by defeating Prthviraj Mohol at the two-day 52nd Hindi Kesari wrestling championship, held at Chhatrapati Shahu Stadium in Satara.

This was the first time the prestigious tournament was hosted in Satara. It was organized by Rajeshwar Pratisthan and Talim Sangh.

In the final wrestling bout for 'Hind Kesari' title, a final fight was held late last night (after 0000 hrs) where in a very neck-to-neck bout, Prthviraj Mohol became injured and refused to play further. On this ground, referees declared Gaikwad for the Hindi Kesari title.
