Bengaluru, April 16 -- Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday asserted that the implementation of women's reservation must not be made contingent on the delimitation exercise, stressing that the quota should be rolled out without delay.
"Women's reservation must be implemented without being made contingent on delimitation. There should be no delay in ensuring representation for women," Siddaramaiah said.
He emphasised that linking the reservation for women to delimitation would unnecessarily postpone its implementation, and called for immediate steps to operationalise the provision in legislative bodies.
