Nagpur, April 23 -- Senior Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar on Thursday termed the women's quota bill as an "eyewash" and accused the government of misleading the public.

Addressing the media at Nagpur Press Club, Wadettiwar alleged that the BJP-led government lacks genuine intent to implement the quota for women and is instead using the issue to create a false narrative.

He pointed out that despite the Bill being passed earlier, its rollout has been repeatedly delayed, citing reasons such as delimitation and the census-factors he said cast serious doubts on the government's commitment.
