Patna, April 17 -- Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said on Friday that April 17 could become a "revolutionary day" for women in India if the proposed women's empowerment bill is passed in the Lok Sabha.
Addressing a programme here, the Chief Minister described the day as potentially historic, noting that the bill would be the most significant step taken since Independence to empower women politically. He said that the legislation, once passed, would substantially enhance women's participation in governance and decision-making at the national level.
