Patna, Oct. 7 -- Defying heavy rain, a large number of women took out a solidarity march on Wednesday evening raising slogans such as "Raat Hamari, Sadak Hamari" (The night is ours, the streets are ours) to demand justice, equality, freedom and an end to violence against women.
Taking out the march, the protesters near Gandhi Maidan called upon the government and administration to ensure the safety of women, take immediate action in cases of violence against them and ensure speedy disposal of such cases. According to the protesters, police detained several participants even before the march began.
