Bhubaneswar, Aug. 28 -- A multidisciplinary medical team at IMS and SUM Hospital-2, Phulnakhara on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar has successfully diagnosed and treated a rare and potentially life-threatening cause of delayed postpartum haemorrhage in a woman who developed severe bleeding three days after a caesarean section.

The woman was brought to the hospital with profuse per-vaginal bleeding and was haemodynamically unstable due to significant blood loss. She was immediately stabilised in the ICU by the Critical Care team led by Dr Suvankar, in coordination with the Obstetrics and Gynaecology team led by Dr Abhijeet and the Nephrology team led by Dr Hapi Patra.
