Gurugram, Oct. 6 -- Gurugram Police have arrested a 24-year-old woman for allegedly blackmailing a man and extorting around Rs 90 lakh from him by threatening to implicate him in a false rape case, officials said. Police said Rs 50,000 in cash was recovered from her possession, while around Rs 95 lakh in her bank account has been frozen as part of the investigation.
The case came to light after the complainant approached police on October 4, alleging that he had met the woman around three-years-ago through an online application. The two subsequently remained in contact through online chats, exchanged mobile numbers and started meeting each other.
