Banda, April 15 -- A tragic fire incident in Girwan village, about 40 km from the district headquarters, claimed the life of a 52-year-old woman and left her husband critically injured, police said on Wednesday.
According to reports, the fire broke out around 1:00 AM on Wednesday after an 11,000-volt high-tension power line snapped and fell onto a puncture repair shop. Sparks from the live wire quickly ignited the shop, where the couple had been sleeping.
The presence of rubber tyres accelerated the blaze, causing it to spread rapidly and triggering small explosions.
