Imphal, May 9 -- The Assam Rifles stated on Saturday that they have rescued a woman abducted byMyanmar based Kuki militants.
In an official press release issued by the PRO and Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence, Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh, stated that the Tangkhul woman, identified as Olina Ningshen, was released following concerted efforts by the Assam Rifles in coordination with intelligence and other agencies.
According to the statement, the woman had allegedly been abducted by cadres of the Kuki National Army-Burma [KNA(B)] and Village Volunteers Eastern Zone (VVEZ) from Namlee village in Kamjong district during the recent unrest along the Indo-Myanmar border.
