Bhubaneswar, May 12 -- The Odisha government on Monday announced that the Bhawanipatna-Khariar road will be upgraded from a two-lane road into a four-lane corridor to bolster connectivity and accelerate economic growth in western Odisha.
Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan said the project would fulfill a long-pending demand of people in the region and significantly improve transportation facilities between Kalahandi and Nuapada districts.
"The new road infrastructure will create multiple opportunities for residents of Bhawanipatna and Khariar areas. Villages connected to the route will get faster and easier access to towns and marketplaces," the minister said.
