Bengaluru, July 7 -- Relentless monsoon rains across Karnataka's Western Ghats have brought a dramatic turnaround in the state's water scenario, swelling reservoirs and rekindling hopes of a productive kharif season in the water-scarce districts of North Interior Karnataka.
The heavy rainfall in the Malnad and Western Ghats catchment areas over the past few days has led to a sharp increase in inflows into major reservoirs on the Krishna, Tungabhadra and their tributaries, easing concerns over irrigation and drinking water availability after a sluggish start to the southwest monsoon.
