Headingley, June 19 -- West Indies overcame a spirited challenge from Scotland to edge toa seven-run win in the ICC Women's World Cup 2026 Group B clash here.

After Stafanie Taylor's late heroics with the bat lifted West Indies to 153/6, Scotland made a run for it with a strong start. Despite a gritty half-century by Darcey Carter, Scotland fell short at 146 in 20 overs on Thursday.

It was second straight win for the West Indies, and helped them climb to No 2 in Group B standings.

Opting to field first, Scotland suffocated the West Indies with disciplined bowling that played to their field. Though West Indies has some big hitters at the top of the order, they weren't able to break free, according to ICC.
