Kolkata, Sept. 4 -- The state government unveiled a new global tourism brand and announced a Rs 500 crore investment push to upgrade the sector, including the procurement of 11 vessels for pleasure cruises on the Ganges, as the government sought to position the state as a distinctive international destination.
Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari launched the new logo of the tourism department titled "West Bengal - Where India Feels Different", with the campaign line "See it in a new form, see it through new eyes", at the Dhono Dhanya Auditorium in Alipore on Friday afternoon. A dedicated ringtone was also unveiled for the tourism department.
