Kolkata, May 14 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced that all government schools in the state will have to ensure singing of the national song 'Vande Mataram' before the commencement of classes from next Monday.
He said a formal government notification in this regard would be issued shortly.
Speaking at the Assembly premises on Thursday, the chief minister said he would issue the notification after returning to Nabanna.
"From Monday, all schools will have to begin classes by singing Vande Mataram. I will issue the notice," he said.
