Kolkata, June 27 -- In a major initiative for the modernisation of technical education in West Bengal, state Higher Education Minister Jagannath Chattopadhyay has announced that 51 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) would be handed over to leading private entities for infrastructure development and investment.
The announcement was made at a special programme organised at the Bengal Chamber of Commerce in Kolkata on the occasion of the fifth World MSME Day 2026 on Saturday.
