Kolkata, Aug. 27 -- With Durga Puja less than two months away, West Bengal chief minister Suvendu Adhikari has directed the administration to complete repairs of roads across the state before Mahalaya on October 10.
Administrative sources said instructions have already been sent to districts to ensure that all roads are made fit for traffic before the festival season begins.
The move is aimed at preventing commuters from facing difficulties due to damaged roads during the Puja period.
This will be the first Durga Puja under the BJP government led by Adhikari, making the maintenance of civic services and infrastructure a key administrative challenge ahead of the festival.
