Kolkata, June 18 -- The West Bengal government, in coordination with the Central government, is planning to establish two dolphin parks along the Hooghly River, including one at Kanthi in East Midnapore, Urban Development Minister Agnimitra Paul said on Thursday.

The proposals are expected to be discussed when Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari meets union Minister for Jal Shakti C.R. Patil later in the day.

According to officials, the state government is considering the creation of two dolphin parks on the Hooghly as part of efforts to conserve aquatic biodiversity while promoting eco-tourism. One of the proposed parks is planned at Kanthi in East Midnapore, while another site is under consideration.
