Kolkata, Aug. 25 -- Nearly seven days after violence rocked Jadavpur University, West Bengal Higher Education Minister Jagannath Chattopadhyay appealed to all stakeholders to maintain peace so the university's reputation as a centre of education and academic excellence can be preserved.
"I condemn whatever is happening due to any provocation or counter-provocation. I appeal to the students, teachers, researchers and others at the university to maintain peace," Chattopadhyay said on the sidelines of a workshop here on Tuesday.
