Kolkata, May 29 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari chaired a meeting of Principal Census Officers at the state secretariat Nabanna, on Friday.

The meeting signalled the start of Census operations in Bengal, 15 years after the last Census was carried out in the state.

According to an official of the Directorate of Census Operations, residents of the state will be able to submit their Census details online between August 1 and August 15 by themselves.

This 15-day window will precede the door-to-door visits by Census officials.

Anyone willing to upload their details can log into the official self-enumeration portal, se.census.gov.in, and do so.
