New Delhi, June 8 -- Ending the protracted political tussle with the Centre over the Prime Minister's flagship health insurance programme, the new BJP-led government in West Bengal on Monday officially joined the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY), becoming the last state in the country to implement the scheme.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the rollout of the scheme was signed between the National Health Authority (NHA) and West Bengal's Department of Health and Family Welfare at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi in the presence of union Health Minister J P Nadda and Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari.
