Kolkata, July 27 -- In a significant development that can reshape the political future of the centre and the state, West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari is scheduled to meet 20 Members of Parliament (MPs) of the Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI) in New Delhi on Tuesday.

This is his first formal interaction with the group since their defection from the Trinamool Congress (TMC).

The 20 MPs, including Sudip Bandyopadhyay, Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, Satabdi Roy, Dev and Yusuf Pathan, had won the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on TMC tickets before joining the relatively lesser-known NCPI, which is currently an ally of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
