Kolkata, Aug. 24 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Monday "welcomed" the Kolkata Municipal Corporation's (KMC) No Objection Certificate (NOC) to Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) for the 12-km Baranagar-Barrackpore Metro Corridor, through his X handle.
This corridor called the Pink Line will be laid along the axis of BT Road.
Chief Minister Adhikari in his post said that this clearance would help expand rapid mass transit in Kolkata's northern suburbs.
He termed the NOC marked as a "significant step forward" that would "drastically cut travel times, ease arterial traffic congestion and deliver safe, modern public transport to commuters".
