Hooghly, June 29 -- Tradition and history converged at the 630-year-old Mahesh Jagannath Temple situated in the neighbourhood of Sreerampore in West Bengal's Hooghly district on Monday as thousands of devotees gathered to witness the annual Snana Yatra, a centuries-old ritual that precedes the much-anticipated Rath Yatra.
The Jagannath Snana Yatra, also known as Deva Snana Purnima, is the sacred ceremonial bathing festival of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra.
