Nikhil VyasNew Delhi, June 8 -- Following rise in tensions in West Asia and the Gulf region, India on Monday said the latest developments were a matter of utmost concern for the international community and reiterated its call for the immediate de-escalation of the conflict.

New Delhi also urged a diplomatic solution as the way forward for peace and stability to be restored in the region.

Marking a sharp escalation in the conflict, Israel and Iran traded fire on Monday, the 100th day of the war, putting an already fragile truce in serious jeopardy and raising fears of a wider regional confrontation.
