Kolkata, Aug. 3 -- West Bengal Health Minister Sharadwat Mukherjee on Monday alleged that the state health department had uncovered large-scale irregularities involving private blood banks and claimed that the alleged scam could eventually exceed Rs 100 crore.
The minister announced that an FIR would be lodged on Tuesday against multiple private blood banks that have come under the scanner of the health department.
Mukherjee said he would discuss the matter with the Chief Minister to ensure a thorough probe by an investigating agency.
