Siliguri, June 15 -- West Bengal Forest Minister Manoj Kumar Oraon has stressed the need for close coordination between his ministry and other departments to unlock the full tourism potential of North Bengal, particularly in the ecologically rich Sikiyajhora region of Alipurduar district.

During his first official visit to Sikiyajhora, popularly known as the "Amazon of Bengal", the minister said the absence of coordination between the Forest and Tourism departments in the past had hampered several development initiatives and delayed the expansion of tourism infrastructure in the area.
