Varanasi, Aug. 17 -- A sea of devotees thronged the holy city of Kashi from Monday morning onwards on the occasion of the third Monday of Shravan and the festival of Nag Panchami.

Long queues of devotees, up to a couple of kilometres, lined up at the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham to worship Baba Vishwanath, even after intermittent rains failed to dampen their faith.

The Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust welcomed the devotees arriving at the Dham with a shower of flowers. After the Mangala Aarti, the temple doors were opened for devotees to visit, following which a large number of devotees continued to arrive for Baba's darshan.
