Mullanpur, June 7 -- Washington Sundar produced a composed unbeaten half-century to steer India to a formidable 564 for eight declared, overshadowing a maiden Test six-wicket haul by Mohammad Saleem Safi as the hosts tightened their grip on the one-off Test against Afghanistan national cricket team here on Sunday.
Resuming the post-lunch session at 475 for six, India showed little interest in slowing down. With the top order having already laid a solid platform through skipper Shubman Gill (126) and Rishabh Pant (81), the responsibility of stretching the advantage fell on Washington and debutant Manav Suthar.
