New Delhi, Aug. 20 -- After a difficult few months in which the Iran-US conflict disrupted their training plans and cost them nearly three months of preparation, the Iran women's kabaddi team used a six-day training camp at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) centre in Sonepat to prepare for the upcoming Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya.
The team, which arrived in Sonepat on August 13, played a series of practice matches against the Indian women's team and other local sides. The sessions were aimed at helping Iran regain match sharpness ahead of the September 19-October 4 Asian Games, while also giving India's younger players an opportunity to compete against an experienced international side.
