Chennai, Sept. 21 -- Vice President C.P.Radhakrishnan arrived in Coimbatore on a short visit to Tamil Nadu on Monday.
He was accorded a warm welcome upon his arrival at Coimbatore International Airport. He was received at the airport by Governor of Tamil Nadu and Keralam Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar; Minister for Backward Classes Welfare V. Sampath Kumar; and other dignitaries.
After a brief reception, he proceeded to Coonoor in the hilly Nilgiris district by a helicopter where he attended the Centenary conference of the UPASI (United Planters' Association of Southern India) Tea Research Foundation.
After the event, he would return to Coimbatore and leave for New Delhi.
