Chennai, Sept. 21 -- Vice-President C.P.Radhakrishnan on Monday called for greater research, modernisation, branding and value addition to make Indian tea more competitive in global markets.
In his address at the Centenary Conference of the UPASI (United Planters' Association of Southern India) Tea Research Foundationat Coonoor in the hilly Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu said strengthening research, factories modernisation, improving quality and productivity, and developing strong Indian tea brands would enhance the tea sector's competitiveness in global markets.
