Visakhapatnam, April 2 -- The Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) has recorded its highest-ever cargo throughput of 91.17 million metric tonnes (MMT) in the financial year 2025-26, registering a growth of about 10.35 per cent over the previous year.
The port surpassed its earlier record of 82.62 MMT achieved in FY 2024-25, marking a significant milestone in its 92-year history and strengthening its position among major ports in the country, VPA Secretary Sankar Babu, said in a release here.
Addressing a stakeholders' meet held on Thursday, VPA Chairperson M. Angamuthu lauded the efforts of port staff, stakeholders, and partner organisations including Railways, Customs and the Andhra Pradesh government.
